New year, same Lord.

Wow. It's 2017!!! I'm nothing short of thankful for this last year. I'm not saying it was easy. As one of the hardest years of my life, the Lord was so in everything & taught me through the rough spots. I hope that what I'm about to tell you is an encouragement to the next blessed year of each of your lives.

Even though 2016 was filled with trials I felt like a living example for 2 Cor. 2:9, "My grace is sufficient for you. My power is made perfect in weakness." I felt the Lord whispering Psalm 27:24, 28:7 in the moments when I felt close to rock bottom. But I know that if the Lord is in me, I will not fall (Ps. 46:5). So I will WALK IN FREEDOM (Ps. 119:45). But even as I'm moving forward in life & starting to make plans that are unlike my peers I know that the Lords plans for me are good (Jer. 29:11). They are GOD GOOD! I want what He wants & nothing less. Though these plans that have been set before me are daunting, I am confident that I don't need to be anxious (Phil. 4:6), I can be brave (Jos. 1:9, Isa. 41:10). I am encouraged to know that I am going out into the world to live out proclaiming the word of Christ & His ways (Isa. 61). I know that nothing can separate me from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord (Rom. 8:39). I'm glad because I can keep watch for the amazing day that He comes to get His children (Matt. 24:32). I think the three top things I've learned in this year are these:

1. To live out Romans 12:18, "As far as it depends on ME, live at peace with everyone."

2. That Proverbs 31:30 is right "Charm is deceptive & beauty is fleeting, but a woman (or man) who fears the Lord is to be praised.

3. Lastly, the hardest one has been to sit back and be quiet. To let go & let God.

My precious Savior has showed me mercy (Ps. 103:12). He has refreshed my soul (Ps. 23:3). He is ABOUNDING in love (Ps. 86:5). He has given me a rested soul (Ps. 62:1). He is forgiving & good (Ps. 86:5). He has renewed my strength (Isa. 40:31).
